For example water yoga, nude yoga, business yoga, stress management yoga, etc. These are the trends that have caused much damage to the most jeweled knowledge Humankind has ever received or experienced.

In the war of religious atrocities and forceful acts, Adhaytma / spirituality is missing even from India. And whoever is talking about it is actually not practicing it. The original question asked in quora space :

Is it very essential to practice pranayam before commencing the meditation practice?

The eight limbs of Yoga ( Yoga Meditation):

1. Yama ( Eternal Vows)

2 Niyama ( Inner discipline and observance)

3. Asana ( Various Body Postures to strengthen the physical body and make balance with the Mind.

4. Pranayama ( Control and streamlining of life energy called prana through breathing techniques)

5. Pratyahara ( Withdrawl of sensing organs)

6. Dharna ( Concentration and focus)

7. Dhyana ( To see inside of you)

8. Samadhi (To realize eternal bliss)
